I managed to solve this issue for a lenovo thinkpad edge e431, which has i believe trouble with the conexant audio driver, so from device manager i uninstalled the win8.1 device which was successfully detected by win10 and showed no errors with the driver (the conexant driver) and this included deleting driver files, then rebooted, and the win.
